Audi Christmas concert

The orchestra opens the evening with the string ensemble work “Orawa” by contemporary composer Wojciech Kilar. This is followed by works by Georg Friedrich Händel, Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach and Johann Sebastian Bach that set the mood for the Christmas season.The vocal ensemble LauschWerk will sing exquisite a cappella choral pieces - from Christmas classics of the Baroque period to modern compositions by Arvo Pärt, Eric Whitacre and Frank Martin. A highlight of the concert will be the “Magnificat” in D major by Johann Sebastian Bach, performed jointly by orchestra and choir - a masterpiece of Baroque sonority.The evening will end on an atmospheric note with arrangements of well-known Christmas carols.
